About Lunar Chronicle
Lunar Chronicle is a dedicated astronomy resource built to help people explore the moon's rhythm — from the phase you were born under to the lunar calendar of any city on Earth. We combine precise astronomical computation with clear, beginner-friendly writing.
Our Mission
We believe the night sky belongs to everyone. Our mission is to turn complex ephemeris data into simple, beautiful tools and guides that anyone can use — whether you're checking your birthday moon phase, planning a stargazing night, or learning the lunar cycle for the first time.
Editorial Standards
Every article is researched against primary astronomical references and reviewed for accuracy before publication. We separate observation from folklore, cite our sources, and update content when astronomical models improve. We never publish sponsored moon-phase 'predictions' as fact.
Our Data & Calculation
Moon phases, moonrise, and moonset times are computed using established astronomical algorithms (the same conic-section methods used by professional almanacs), then localized to each city's coordinates and time zone. Calculations are reproducible and continuously validated against published astronomical tables.
The Team
Lunar Chronicle is produced by a small team of astronomy enthusiasts and front-end engineers who care about both scientific rigor and great user experience.
Lunar Chronicle Team
The Lunar Chronicle editorial team combines professional astronomical computation with clear, accessible science writing. Every moon phase, illumination, and rise/set time on this site is generated from established ephemeris algorithms and reviewed for accuracy.
Lunar Chronicle Astronomy Team
Our astronomy contributors are amateur and semi-professional observers who write observation guides, calendar roundups, and equipment advice based on real night-sky experience across multiple time zones.
